For instance, peptides are found in some creams and theoretically these may stimulate the development of collagen and elastin (proteins that help keep skin firm and supple) in the skin.

It's also worth noting, some products may make your skin feel better, for example products with alpha or beta hydroxy acids. I also think its helped with fine lines and just general brightness and appearance of my skin.
