You must choose semi aniline type of dyed leather over fully aniline as it would ensure durability. The fully aniline leather may just impart good color to the leather but you would sooner notice damage on the furniture of it lacks the protective covering.
Another important fact that must be taken into consideration is whether the leather used is “embossed” and “corrected”.
This kind of leather is not in demand as they are considered to be inferior in quality and thus very inexpensive.
Factories receiving such leather use some correction procedure which helps to mend the surface of leather infested by insect bites. They are also found to have a number of range marks and holes on the surface.
After undergoing the correction procedure, such leather is embossed to give them a natural look.
This process uses engraving plate or metal plating and it imparts an innate grain pattern to the surface. However most well-known brands do not use such type of leather and prefer the semi aniline type which is very essential to help the furniture last a long period of time.
The gloss of the leather is also very high in case of semi aniline leather which have high amount of polyurethane coating.
Also, when you buy leather furniture, you must give stress to two very important features, “Pitch and comfort” and most branded furniture provides both these traits.
