Having experienced the usage of a deep fryer and a traditional oil fryer, in comparison, the Turkey Fryer has been found to be very useful.

2nd March 2012 - The smell of turkey frying can be very tempting to most of us. Having had a good dinner, one must make sure one cleans the Turkey Fryer and maintains it well.
A fryer without much maintenance can wear out very soon, thereby reducing the usability of the device. Before using the fryer for the first time, one must make sure to read the manual that comes along with the device. It is important as each company can have differences between the types.
While using a fryer, it is important to have a fire extinguisher nearby. Fire can catch on any time, and throwing sand on to the fryer can spoil its set up completely. Make sure that you do not have to rush to the other end of the house to get the fire extinguisher. One should not cook with an open flame; use the lid that prevents the flames to move upward.
Hygiene is extremely important while cooking, especially some kind of meat. If cleaning is not followed after the usage of the fryer, the next time you use the fryer, some kind of germs causing disease can stick on. The growth of fungus on the dried parts of the meat is common. One should make use of a wet cloth to remove any of the stains or the marks that were obtained during cooking.
Make sure you clean the fryer only after it has cooled down completely. Taking all the parts out and giving it a thorough cleaning can help. This would depend on the frequency of usage of the equipment. Cleanliness of the fryer ensures that the turkey be cooked fresh each time and this can also prevent any false taste from the turkey.
While purchasing a turkey fryer, one must prefer to choose an oil free fryer. This can be very dangerous at times, especially when the flames break out. Keep all inflammable items far away from the fryer. Make sure that children are not playing around the place of frying. Keep a first aid kit handy nearby in case of any accident. Keep close watch on the fryer and do not abandon and go away somewhere.
