19th March 2012 - All kinds of curly hair belong to some type or the other. They are normally classified into groups of two, two a, three, three a, three b and three c, and type four. Kinky hair belongs to type four groups.
This form of hair is the driest and curliest. This type of hair is sometimes defined as afro type hair. Certain people would think it to be good to change their hair style for a single day to a kinky style, but it can a lot more difficult than just using a curling rod or curlers.
There are three types of kinky hair, a, b and c. This kind of hair is very fragile and thin. It can easily break in any spot and is of uneven thickness. Each of the curls follows a zigzag pattern. Some people feel that this kind of hair takes a long time to grow, but given the conditions, the growth of this hair is similar to any other type of hair. One needs to take care of the hair and maintain it well, or breakage and damage will be very common.
This hair is frizzy in nature. Getting this hair trimmed will require blow-drying after a shampoo and only when it returns to the normal state can it be trimmed. Moisture requirement for this kind of hair is more and hence moisturizing is important right from the stage of the first shampooing until the next shampooing. These natural locks if maintained without uncurling and curling back, they can be really sleek and shiny.
If moisture is present in the hair, then the curls stand out really well and it can make a very beautiful hairstyle. If there is frizz in the hair, it is best to use a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner as it can then strengthen the hair.
After using conditioner to the hair, a rich setting cream should be used which is full of natural oils.
The more the natural herb content that is present in the product, better will be the condition of the hair. It is best to avoid any petroleum-based products in the kinky hair because it will plug the pores causing dandruff to form.
