4th October 2011 - Golf Equipment comprises of various items that are required by the player while playing the game of golf. These include golf balls, tees, clubs, carts, etc. These help in enriching the gaming experience as well as aid in playing the stroke you have in mind for a particular hole.
Golf balls are aerodynamically designed dimpled balls that are used for this game. Their diameter is 42.67 mm and usually don’t weight more than 45.93 gm. The balls are constructed in ways to aid and alter the spin, trajectory, feel and distance. Golf balls are separated into three categories: two-piece, three-piece and four-piece. These are categorized based on their method of construction layers.
Golf clubs are what you use to hit the golf ball. Each player is allowed to carry no more than fourteen clubs at a time. There are several kinds of clubs that are used. Irons, woods, putters, hybrids and chippers are the ones that are used generally. The most important variation that affects the type of the club is the angle of the face from the plain. The loft is what decides the ball’s trajectory and direction it’s going to go it.
A tee is a nail like object, made from plastic or wood, which is placed into the ground to give the ball a higher lever and for making it easier to hit. However, this is allowed only on the first stroke of the concerned hole. Tee can also be replaced by a mound of sand, which was traditionally used in the game. The same rules apply to sand.
A golf bag is what a golf player uses to transport his golf clubs in. They are made from nylon or leather and are constructed around a plastic frame that holds the clubs. A gold club may have wheels or will need to be carried around over the shoulder.
Other Golf Equipment may include several other items. A golf cart can come handy when travelling around the course with the golf bag. Towels, ball markers, club head covers, ball retrievers are several other items that fall under golf equipment.
