21st November 2011 - The Louvered Doors are majorly made with the horizontal material that helps to aid smooth airflow in rooms. When one wants to paint these types of doors, one will have to be careful to avoid double errors.
The first thing to be careful of, is when applying the paints, as we all know that paints can drip and splatter. The second, is that if over paint is applied it can lead to the covering of the air space of the wooden material; this will prevent the door to easily perform its working principle very well.
A masking paper is used to cover the avoided parts, It is not expensive but have the water resistance properties, this should be used in protecting each door below effectively to avoid paint drips. The edges of the paper that will be used for protection should be covered by blue paint tape; this will enable the paper not to slip off from the position that it is fixed upon to stick to wet paints.
Any other parts that paint is not needed should also be protected by the blue paint tape, the doorknobs should be removed with screw driver.
Latex primer is applied to the by the latex paintbrush, the horizontal wood material is painted first by a horizontal brushing of the paint on its surface. A thin coat of the latex paint must be applied so as not to block the wood points to fix other reliable nuts.
The other parts of the door should be painted after all the horizontal wood material is completely painted; a small inch latex paintbrush is used to brush the horizontal wooden material over again to avoid the presence of remaining primer. This will smoothen any runs or drips, the work must be done quickly to prevent the dry up of the primer.
The brush must not be put into any primer during smoothen of the surface of the wooden material, the primer is allowed to dry for some hours. The brushes are not cleaned with water.
Paints are now applied to the louver door in the same way that it was done to the primer, the paint is allowed to dry for some hours, and then coats are added to it if necessary then allow the second coat to dry very well. The doorknobs can now be reattached.
