Joe Palermo has lived near Lake Charles for most of his life since moving from Port Arthur, Texas when he was a boy. Following a stint in the US Army, Palermo founded Palermo Realty Development in 1963. The first few years were difficult, as it always is for a new company, but the general prosperity that was flowing through the United States, even all the way down in southwest Louisiana, made it possible for businesses to expand and develop more property for commercial use. As more businesses became prosperous, more people started moving to the area, creating the need for residential properties.

Business picked up for Joe Palermo, Joe Palermo Lake Charles he founded Palermo Construction Company to build new properties himself in the Lake Charles area in 1967. He was the Vice President of the company until he stepped down in 1999. Palermo still runs Palermo Realty Development, however, and is always looking for new ways to help his business and his community grow by taking advantage of the many business opportunities in the community. Palermo has developed many properties over the years that have led to more prosperity for everyone in the community and created opportunities for many. Palermo lives in this community, so he loves to help it thrive.

Joe Palermo is still in charge of developing new properties for the good of the community in Lake Charles to this day, over 50 years after founding Palermo Realty Development and Palermo Construction Company. His success in the real estate development market has created more opportunities for him to expand his business holdings in the area and help secure the economic future of Lake Charles and the surrounding area. Palermo is also the owner of the Palvest, Inc., a commercial real estate development company working on properties throughout Louisiana and into Texas. He also co-owns Bad Boy Enterprises, a company based in Natchez, Mississippi that sells electric-powered, off-road, all-purpose vehicles to hunting and outdoor enthusiasts all over the world.

Joe Palermo has contributed much to Lake Charles and the surrounding community for the past five decades. He plans on helping the community grow and prosper for many more years even now.
