Tips for Cleaning the Floors

Posted July 2, 2019 by JKWindowCleaningCovent

Wood floors can come from soft, hard or extra hard material, as well as from resinous, precious or exotic wood, each with its own particular needs and a fundamental attention to detail.

As our customers well know, the floors are the part of the building that gets dirty more often and easily, and alone represent over 70% of the attention of those who are concerned about keeping it clean; it is estimated that, whether it is an industrial warehouse or a skyscraper, the cost of the floor is approximately 10% of the total cost of the building.

The intended use of the building therefore leads to almost obligatory choices; for an industrial warehouse, like those in the Monza and Brianza artisan areas, the cost will obviously be reduced compared to more demanding buildings, and the flooring will generally be concrete, certainly less expensive than other solutions.

A prefabricated building will obviously be more "light" compared to a traditional masonry construction, and consequently the designer will choose a more "delicate" floor, such as PVC.
A residence or a luxury villa, instead, will be made with expensive materials and fine finishes, such as marbles and woods chosen for example.

Therefore, the floor represents a precious element, to be carefully preserved. Today the market offers a wide range of flooring with specific characteristics.

In order to understand what the most appropriate cleaning treatment will be, it is important to consider the various possible interventions; only with an excellent knowledge of these data, will then make the most suitable choice.

Depending on their nature, floor coverings can be divided mainly into four categories; hard, resilient, in wood and in fabric.

Among the hard floors we find those in stone (such as marble and travertine), in agglomerates (including mosaic and grit) and "mixtures" such as cement, stoneware, terracotta and ceramics. The floors in "resilient" material, from more recent history, are instead those made of materials such as PVC, rubber (the "bolted", the "bucciardato", "the grooved") and linoleum.

Wood floors can come from soft, hard or extra hard material, as well as from resinous, precious or exotic wood, each with its own particular needs and a fundamental attention to detail.

Finally, the fabric coverings, such as the carpet, can be in natural (animal or vegetable) or artificial fiber, in free laying, rather than in tension or anchored with adhesive tape, and for a correct dusting and washing must take into account all these elements.

These are just some of the reasons why it is very clear the need to contact experts for the care and cleaning of their floors.
