Leading a very successful and active lifestyle prior to hurricane, Andrew Lesnak fell into a depressive state after the disaster. After coming into terms to his life, he provided the hurricane victims with hands on counseling and located financial awards to help rebuild their homes and personal lives.

He came up with the fundraising initiatives to help staff spend more time and resources in assisting those who seek help for their addiction. He helps them to triumph over their struggles and find their identity. Aimed at supporting the recovery of drug addicts, he joined hands with Hope Sheds Light.

Considering it highly therapeutic for his recovery process, he came up with a successful approach to wellness. He started The Spero Advocacy Group with the motto “While I Breathe, I Hope”.

Adding more to his volunteerism, he created Community Outreach Program to assist the victims of catastrophic events, where he serves as an advocate to those suffering victims. He helps people find quality affordable housing as well as providing them with the training to enhance their earning capabilities. He personally involves himself in helping them effectively communicate, plan, organize and make the proper decisions that can lead to a path of creating wealth and homeownership.

The unfortunate incident of hurricane Sandy took a stressful toll on Andrew Lesnak. He lost all his personal belongings, his house and his business. He soon fell into a deep state of depression. However, he soon realized that he was not the only one surviving this tragedy, there were thousands of other victims going through the same.

Overall, by continuously providing love, support, and understanding for those struggling with depression and addiction, Andrew found his way towards recovery from Hurricane Sandy.
