Andrew Lesnak fought for his life after Hurricane Sandy completely destroyed him. He had been enjoying his life to the fullest in his beautiful home but was left with nothing when it crashed through his doors. Plus, he was all set to enjoy the fortune he amassed by selling his successful financial planning business of more than 25 years. No one can bear the pain of witnessing years of hard work disappear within moments.

People are often heartbroken and feel hopeless after such a disaster. The same thing happened to Andrew Lesnak, and he found himself extremely depressed and vulnerable as he was clueless about how to move on. His home, his business, everything just disappeared in front of his eyes. Even years after the disaster, Andrew relied on medication for his depression. However, he found volunteering and donating towards other victims of Hurricane Sandy a great option to recover from its aftermath.

When struggling with mental health issues, Andrew Lesnak realized that depression and anxiety were major areas of concern after the Hurricane left people homeless. He served as a counselor for those suffering and lent a listening ear for those who wanted to share their sorrows with him. This helped him relate with them while he shares his situation with them, helping form a stronger bond between survivors. In addition to becoming a counselor, Andrew also advocated for providing survivors with affordable housing and life skills, as well as employment opportunities, so that they could re-start their life from scratch to live the way they want to.

Being highly philanthropic, Andrew Lesnak works to raise funds and resources for those struggling with drug addiction and depression at Hope Sheds Light. He considers the situation of these drug addicts quite relatable to those of hurricane victims as both need a bit of help but do not know where to start. They just need a little guidance and awareness to get their lives back on track.
