Being highly dedicated to the research and cures of this disease of blood cancer, The Leukemia Society aims at improving the quality of life of the patients and their families. It works by funding lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.

The initiation of Team in Training was aimed at raising the funds in support of The Leukemia Society. Indeed, this society exists to find cures and ensure access to the treatments for blood cancer patients. Essentially, it is a voice for all the blood cancer patients, around the world. The main agenda is based on finding cures. Additionally, it drives research in the areas of the unmet medical needs, thus helping to bridge the gap between academic discovery and drug development.

This society identifies and funds the most promising blood cancer research projects and forges partnerships with academic institutions, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical companies to boost up the development of new therapies. Apart from finding cures, it also ensures that patients have easy access to the treatments and the services that they need to live a longer, healthier and better quality of life.

Being a great source of free highly specialized blood cancer information, education and support for the patients, The Leukemia Society advocates for the blood cancer survivors and their families. It is highly committed to ensuring that patients have access to an adequate network of providers and services.

Its’ Team in Training volunteers, work for raising money to pioneer the new breakthroughs in the fight against cancer. Andrew Lesnak continues to contribute towards The Team in Training, by raising money by participating in the various charitable events around the world; Marathon’s, Triathlons, Biking Tours…. thus, ensuring that the blood cancer patients are getting the funding and treatments they require.

About: Andrew Lesnak Andrew has had a unique set of professional experiences. In 1982 he had been drafted by Major League Baseball and played within the Minnesota Twins organization. After an injury, he had to retire and decided to put his efforts into the business of financial planning. He began his “2nd career”, in 1985, and operated it successfully until he sold his financial services firm 25+ years later. However, after a set of some very personal and ongoing tragedies in his life, beginning in 2012, he had decided to dedicate himself to helping other victims, by participating in a variety of charitable causes. Andrew, being a victim of Hurricane Sandy, knows the plights and pains of those who suffer tragic losses, both professionally and personally. Essentially, he has evolved into an advocate for those in “dire need”. In addition to
