Andrew Lesnakstarted finding ways to rebuild his life after hurricane Sandy. After years of mental health treatment, he finally started to place a new value on life. Soon, he created a Community Outreach Program, to assist the victims of catastrophic events, like what he had experienced. He acts as an advocate to the suffering victims to help them provide the affordable housing and training to increase their earning capabilities.
Before hurricane, Andrew had a highly successful and active lifestyle as he lived in a beautiful waterfront home. He was leading a financially comfortable life, after his 2 career successes and the owner of a financial planning firm, for over 25 years.

Immediately after the hurricane, he had fallen into a depressive state, as the reality of his situation became evident.After coming into terms with his life, Andrew motivated victims of hurricane Sandy to fight for success. He provided them with the mental health therapy that was focused on the effect of the disaster including distress, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders.

Andrew found it highly therapeutic to help heal the wounds of other victims. He offered hands on counseling, and located financial awards to help rebuild both their home and personal lives. He soon realized that the lack of employment and homelessness had increased the rate of suicidal tendencies among the victims. Through his advocacy role, Andrew Lesnak closely interacted with every victim and listened to his pain. He assured them that it was just a phase and would pass gradually.

Andrew Lesnak has decided on partnering with Hope Sheds Light. He could relate with those struggling with addiction and depression. He could empathize with their sense of hopelessness and lost sense of how to rebuild their lives. He decided to volunteer his time to counseling these suffering victims.
