Times have certainly changed. Could you imagine our mothers or grandmothers going to the gym? They didn't need to as there was enough muscle building and maintaining activities in their lives to keep them healthy. But that has all gone now; we enjoy household appliances, cars and technology instead and barely need to move a muscle to get through the day. And that is the problem.
Seems rather strange that we have removed all of the physical work from our lives to make them easier and more convenient but have not left our bodies the vigorous activity they need to stay healthy. Growth and repair hormones are stimulated when our muscles are challenged. This sweeps out old worn out cells and tissues replacing them with younger, stronger and healthier ones.
But no muscular work means no rejuvenating hormones and instead there is decay and deterioration.
