Learn various ways to raise funds for your non-profit

Raising funds is a crucial way for organizations. Non-profit fundraising is a general way of the most passionate area of non-profits.

 
Usually, the people who take time to participate in fundraising events and seminars are very deeply connected to the lower section of the society, and supports various causes.

Here are some tips for raising more funds and donations, let’s have a look.

1. Matching gifts
Matching gifts can make your non-profits achieve heights and donations twice than before, with just minimum efforts on your part. Let your matching gifting software do the work to find out if your donors are eligible and matching with your employees’ donation and your organizations ideas. It doubles the donation and helps in building and maintaining a database for your donors and provides a great service to help you raise more funds.

2. Host a talent show
Get access to a venue and get in touch with a few performers. Host a community talent show as one of your charity ideas, ask people to participate and charge a fee, and sell concessions to supplement your fundraising efforts. 6. Consider donating appreciated assets
Donating property that has appreciated in value, can result in a dual benefit as compared to the benefit gained at the time of other assets. By doing so not only you deduct the fair market value of that property but also avoid paying capital gain taxes.

7. Pay attention to the calendar
Contributions are always deductible in the year they are made or done. To make them count during the tax year, giving must be done by December 31. Contributions made by text message are deductible in the year you send the text message if the contribution is charged to your telephone or wireless account. Likewise, even if the checks are written and transmitted by the end of the year and are not cashed until the next year, they will be deductible for same year.

8. Host a friendly competition
If your organization has friendly contact with your donors and supporters, try hosting a friendly competition to raise funds. This fundraiser idea will always work for raising more and more funds.

Select a venue and plan out a competition, get your friends, family, staff and all the supporters on board. This competition will definitely be a unique and daring mode to raise funds.

9. Partner with a restaurant
Many restaurants and local chains likes to get a partner on board. Your organization could get in touch with the manager of a restaurant and ask if you can host a fundraising event. And when you decide a date and time for the event, invite your friends and family members to come up and be a part of the social cause for the needy ones and support you with their little help.

10. Choose the right fundraiser
There are dozens of charity fundraisers to choose from. When you are done with choosing the best fundraiser for your organization consider selecting an outdoor venue like park and gather all your donors and other people, keep up a box and ask people to donate, attached a note telling them about the cause you are working on and for what you need funds.

11. Try a give-up fundraiser
A “Give-It-Up” fundraiser is a free fundraiser which allows you to stay in touch with your donors and supporters on regular basis, and let you ask your donors to give a certain amount of money for your cause. Their indulgence in your organization could be a daily latte, a weekend trip or an excursion.

12. Try tutoring Students
If you have people with some good teaching skills in your organization ask them to help students in studies, use your strong points in helping out students and raise funds in the form of teaching fees. Set up a tutoring service and charge an hourly fees.

13. Host a community yard sale
Host a yard or a garage sale to help your cause and raising funds. You don’t have to sell your stuff or other materials, just make a community event and invite your friends, family and supporters to join you for the good cause. And don’t forget to promote your event on social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest boards. Send your supporters newsletters. The more the people know about your event, the more are the chances to raise funds.

14. Create a military-themed cookbook
If you have a brilliant recipe or if there is someone in your staff who knows how to cook, consider compiling a military themed cookbook to raise funds for military and veteran causes. Invite people and ask for their submission in advance and upload your event moments on your social platforms so as to get more people in your program.
