As we know, India will be hosting the 2023 ICC Cricket world cup after 12 years, and the excitement to win another world cup after 2011 has doubled. No doubt! The expectation from the men in blue will be high to win the world cup and recreate the memories of 2011 again.

This world cup is extra special for India because it will be for the first time that India will be solely hosting a world cup with any subcontinent country. Today, we will go through the list of venues where the matches will take place for the 2023 cricket world cup and what changes have been made by the Board of Cricket Council India (BCCI ) for the 2023 world cup.

1.Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad - India will be hosting 5 world cup matches (including the final) at Narendra Modi Stadium, which is the biggest cricket stadium in the world. Having a sitting capacity of 132,000 spectators is all set with LED lights in the stadium to give cricketing fans a new experience.

2. M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru: It would not be wrong to say that M. Chinnaswamy stadium is one of the premier cricket stadiums of India in Bengaluru, having a sitting capacity of more than 40,000 spectators is ready for cricket lovers to witness huge sixes that will make everyone amaze in the 2023 ICC world cup. Chinnaswamy will be hosting 5 matches against the top teams of the world.

3. Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi: Delhi, the national capital city of India, will be hosting 5 matches at Arun Jaitley Stadium with a new name and new upgradation in technology after the 2011 world cup against the top team in the world. This cricket stadium is the second oldest cricket stadium in India, having a sitting capacity of 41,842 spectators.

4. M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai: Earlier known as Madras Cricket Ground/ Chepauk Stadium was renamed as M.A Chidambaram Stadium is one of the oldest cricket stadiums in India, which is still in use after being established in the year 1916.
This Chepauk Stadium has a sitting capacity of 50,000 spectators and will be ready to host 5 2023 ICC world cup matches.

5. HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala: Built in the Himalayan range, HPCA Stadium is one of the most beautiful stadiums in India, having a sitting capacity of 23,000 spectators and will be ready to host 5 world cup matches with snow-capped Himalayan mountains in the background and top teams on the ground.

6. Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad: Named after the former prime minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. The Hyderabad cricket stadium is located in the eastern suburb of Uppal, having a maximum capacity of 55,000 is getting ready for 3 world cup matches against the top countries in the world.

7. Eden Gardens, Kolkata: Eden Gardens is the second-largest cricket stadium in India and the third-largest in the world. Having a sitting capacity of more than 66,000 spectators is ready to host the 5 World Cup matches which include the Semi-finals for the World Cup. It is also called the Mecca of Indian cricket.
This cricket stadium has hosted several international competitions, including the World Cup, World Twenty 20 and Asia Cup. In 1987, Eden Gardens became the second stadium, to host a World Cup final. The 2016 ICC World Twenty 20 finals between West Indies and England, was also being played at this Stadium only.

8. Ekana Stadium, Lucknow: Ekana Stadium, or BRSABV Ekana Stadium, is named after the Former President of India Bharat Ratna, Shri Atal Vihari Bajpayee in Lucknow. It is the fifth largest international cricket stadium in the world, having a sitting capacity of 50,000 spectators and will be ready to host 5 world cup matches for the first time.

9. Wankhede Stadium: India’s favorite stadium, where they have won their second world cup after 28 years, will be ready to host 5 world cup matches against the top teams in the world, from 21st October 2023. This place has a sitting capacity of 32,000 spectators.

10. Maharashtra cricket stadium, Pune: Maharashtra cricket stadium (MCA) is a cricket stadium situated on the outskirts of the city limit of Pune in Gahunje village. The extra special thing about this cricket stadium is that it is designed in the shape of a bowl by a famous English Architect named Micheal Hopkins. It has a sitting capacity of 37,000 spectators and will be all set to host 5 matches for the world cup 2023.
