Killeen, TX, 2015/ Press Release: Boys & Girls Clubs Of Central Texas has recently received the prestigious Bronze Certificate of Excellence from Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC). The kids club in Killeen, TX has been accredited for achieving the chief requirements of the Professional Development Certification Program of MCEC. The credential was presented by Dr. Mary Keller, CEO, MCEC to Mr. Jon Charles, Chief Personnel Officer, Boys & Girls Clubs Of Central Texas.
The Professional Development Certification Program organized by MCEC comprises research-based strategies that help teachers and leaders learn to address the academic, social as well as emotional needs of children. Talking about the success of the program, Mr. Abdul Subhani, Chief Volunteer Officer for the kids club said, “Professional development is beneficial for any staff to excel in their field. This enrichment program will help us enhance our focus on technical education.”
Boys & Girls Clubs Of Central Texas has successfully fulfilled all the prerequisites to receive the certification at the bronze level. While presenting the award to the club, Dr Keller said, “We developed this program mainly for this club in order to enhance confidence of the staff. We strive to increase competence and improve the quality of life of our members.” The club’s Director of Student Services, Tiana Marratta, felt that the training was extremely helpful in understanding the lives of military kids and how the staff can improve the level of service for them. By way of continuous training and development of the staff, the club aims at providing quality programs for the children of all age groups.
