Ojai, CA December 22, 2014 - The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards are held in more than 140 cities and in more than 50 countries worldwide, honoring those who build market-leading companies that make our communities, our country and the world a better place. Each year, the most successful entrepreneurs vie for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award, the most prestigious honor in its class in the world and referred by many as the “Nobel Prize of Entrepreneurship”.

Reno Rolle´ and Wife, Lynn were both nominated for the 2014 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for their work at Boku International. “As we close out another amazing year, we wanted to announce and share this honor with our friends, family and customers throughout the world” said Reno Rolle´. Lynn and I have been partners in life and business since our very first date. I was selling fireworks out of the trunk of my car and Lynn counted the money.”

It was Lynn’s gut instinct and support that led to the launch of their first venture in 1986 to market the patented Rolle´ Beach Blanket. Shortly afterwards, the couple started selling Christmas trees on the street corner in Mt. Laurel, NJ. “We began with 150 trees and very few believers” said Reno Rolle´. “Most of our friends and family thought we were nuts. Truth be told, I almost froze mine off - several times over the years. It was really hard work”.

After a minor hick-up with the property owner, the business quickly flourished and soon there was enough cash to buy the entire 3 acre waterfront parcel. At its peak, Creekside Christmas Trees was selling thousands of trees annually to distributors and retail lots in four states.

Reno Rolle´ continued “We’ve been fortunate over the years to have tested ourselves almost continuously in so many different businesses and ideas. It’s been far from easy with countless set-backs but we’ve got tons of grit and wouldn’t trade any of our experiences for the world. Now with Boku, we’re feeding organic super foods to people all over the world and have learned the best lesson of all – success is not defined by money alone but also by the positive difference you can make in the lives of others through your efforts in business”
