NEW YORK, NY, 18th Feb, 2015 – “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” – Pablo Picasso. At the prestigious Montclare Children’s School (www.montclareschool.org), Art and creativity are celebrated throughout the year with various special events throughout the year that are designed to encourage toddlers (and their families) to engange in creativity and art. It is widely known that children who experience the process of creating art benefit greatly from it, both in terms of actual artistic abilities as well as developing life tools such as problem solving, working together in a group and much more.
We strongly believe in providing a well-rounded, stimulating curriculum, even for our youngest students. Exposure to and appreciation of the arts is an integral part of our preschool curriculum and is integrated into all of our programs”.

At montclare children's school the school year began by having the students learn all about the basics of colors, starting with black and white. Together, the students have plenty of opportunities to experiment with creating wonderful collages using various drawing techniques, paints, and a variety of tools to mix different color shades. The students work with a variety of primary colors, creating bright and colorful monochromatic works of art using different techniques the students have learned and practiced. Lastly, all students engage in lively discussions about the process of creating art with one another and how mixing specific colors produce secondary colors. Throughout the year students get to work with mixed media collages, finger-paint prints, crayons and much more.

Recently, Montclare children's school began posting blog updates directly from their art studio on their website at www.montclareschool.org. In the most recent update the school share details about the art studio and the various projects the students are involved in. The school also discusses how they use recycled cardboard and other recycled materials and techniques to create ‘cardboard constructions’.

Located at 747 Amsterdam Avenue in New York City, the school resides in a landmark building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The teacher-guided preschool programs offers activities that are designed for children that include Art, Yoga, Movement, Music, Library, Free Play, Circle Time and Snack , among many others.

On their website, Montclare children's school share photos and videos of the student's artwork. Reviewing the amazing results these young children were able to produce is simply outstanding and is a great testament to the schools dedication to the arts in general, and creativity in early education, in particular.
