Very recently, new case came into the light that a man was found guilty for deceptively imposing an abortion on his partner. His act instead of setting him free actually landed him into trouble. This man anticipated that his partner is pregnant and got scared by thinking excessively about the consequences in negative manner. Therefore, he attempted to give her abortion pill without her consent. Because, in his opinion she must have neglected if asked to abort a child but somehow this act apparently hurt her severely. This man made a statement that seemed to be really different from the legal history’s viewpoint of Norway.

He said that, ‘my moral sense was affected adversely and today I seriously feel rue about my deed, but that was a moment when I thought it would be right to go for it,’ the man confessed in the court. Interestingly, this man already had a child from a woman when they were in short-lived relationship, and he felt unnerving when he realized that his girl friend is pregnant and this incident took place after their acquaintance at a party. They just had light hearted intercourse after a party and she became pregnant. His girl friend stated that, “he asked me many times to discontinue the pregnancy but it was too late and perhaps not possible for me to pursue an abortion.” Till the time she realized that she was given a dose of abortion drug, time passed away swiftly. She was offered a smoothie by an accused and soon after sometime, she experienced acute abdominal spasms. Therefore she preferred to ensure everything is alright and thus visited a clinic and underwent some crucial tests, which ascertained that it was a case of forced abortion and that had been initiated well in advance. Diagnosis of those tests revealed that heavy dose of abortion pill was given to her without her knowledge.

He explained to the court that he ordered one batch of abortion pill and served through smoothie to his girl friend during the early pregnancy. So, the moment they sought help of trained professional, he sensed that fetus is still in the developing stage therefore placed an order for another abortion drugs online. He read somewhere; abortion pill may also cause serious birth defects in child and definitely didn’t want to live with it. But before he express remorse feeling about entire incident, situation had gone out of control. State prosecutor demanded for the full seven-year sentence for heinous crime.
