Even though this wood is older than the oldest Homo Sapiens dating back 40,000 years ago, it is not petrified. Once it is out of the ground the wood is workable with the usual woodworking tools used on other species of wood. When sanded out with 600-grit sanding paper the wood grains came to life presenting the timber floor restoration team with stunning results.
