IDCO allots 8,066 acre of land for different projects

The Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has allotted 8,066 acre of land for proposed projects in the aluminium sector in Odisha.

 
The Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has allotted 8,066 acre of land for proposed projects in the aluminium sector in Odisha. In this segment, the total requirement for all MoU projects is pegged at 13,924.5 acre of land.


IDCO, the nodal agency for land acquisition for various projects in the state, has acquired and allotted 2,053.2 acre of government land and 6,012.77 acre of private land for these projects. The state government has signed an MoU with Vedanta Aluminium (now Sesa Sterlite), Aditya Aluminium; and home grown RSB Metaltech for the aluminium sector. IDCO has allotted Vedanta’s Lanjgarh refinery (2,064.5 acre of land) and Vedanta’s smelter and captive power projects (1,915 acre of land) at Jharsuguda.


For the Aditya Alumina’s (Hindalco) Rengali project, the nodal agency has allotted 2,580 acre of land. This project has already been commissioned successfully. The state government has inked pacts with 93 players for setting up projects in the steel, aluminium, and power sectors in the state. Most of these projects will come up in the steel sector.
