Manchester – The WEDG, founded in Manchester, UK in 2013, says that their team has spent more than one year for addressing the post-Snowden internet security concerns. According to them, they have come out with a complete Cloud solution because the solution provides everything people have come to expect from such cloud solutions like Email, Address Book, Calendar and more importantly, Storage.
The WEDG adds that the solution they have developed has been designed to enable all these features but the great news is that the users’ information will never be shared with third parties unless the users themselves want to.
The WEDG emphatically says that their solution is a self hosted, on-site, secure cloud solution, providing email and file storage with advanced privacy controls.
The WEDG continues to add that their team aims to enable users with dedicated access to a fast, secure and reliable cloud solution, without ever compromising on their right to digital privacy.
The solution founded by them is the brainchild of Shehbaz Afzal, who, all through his journey, has been ably supported by a close knit team of developers, designers, engineers and researchers. According to Shehbaz Afzal of the WEDG, all these people have donated their time and expertise to make his dream of developing a secure cloud solution become a reality.
The WEDG says that their solution will allow users to host data on a device they own. They can host data in a place they trust also. Earlier, data used to be stored at a large corporation’s data centre thousands of miles away and that is why privacy of data sometimes used to be in jeopardy. The hardware of the solution developed by them is built around high-end encryption and its software utilises a secure 256-bit SSL encryption that can protect users’ privacy and data. At the same time, users can have the liberty of fully and easily upgrading the solution also.
The WEDG solution has been designed to enable high speed email and data storage, to sync and share, as well as to make use of other cloud solutions provided by third party apps. Unlike its competitors, the WEDG says that there is no monthly subscription fee for using this solution. There are no caps and limits on usage as well.
The WEDG says that they are currently seeking crowd funding and that they aim to ship in late 2014.
