Why the USB Thumb Drive is Dead

USB thumb drives are becoming increasingly outdated when it comes to file transfers between different mobile devices. Zapya services including Webshare can be a suitable alternative. Read on to find out why!

For the last few decades USB thumb drives have been a staple to portable memory. Before the invention the USB thumb drive people had to use floppy discs or CDs. They were bigger, more fragile and the general process was more cumbersome. USB was a smaller, more resilient and longer-lasting alternative. Up to this day, USB is getting smaller and there are more improvements being made.

However, USB thumb drives may not be the best method for storing or transferring files. Since it is physical, there is always the risk of losing them. That is the reason why many people are resorting to Cloud sharing or storage as it is easier to update the file saved on to Cloud and there is little danger that you will lose it if you manage to forget or lose your USB drive.

Not only that, in order to use the USB stick, the device needs to have a USB slot. This can be a major flaw when it comes to file sharing between phones or between a mobile device and a laptop. Although most laptops may have these USB slots many phones do not, in which case, you will have to purchase a special cable connecting your phone to your computer. This can be a nuisance in daily life and a disaster if you forget these small devices or cables for an important business meeting or presentation.

Luckily, we can do better than the USB thumb drives. Nowadays file sharing can take place without having any physical device to visibly connect a phone and a computer. Zapya Webshare ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dewmobile.kuaiya.web&hl=en ) allows users to easily transfer files from mobile devices to their laptops. Without cables or USB file sharing is only few clicks away. Webshare will allow users to access all of the contents from a Android phone on any device that is in the same Wi-Fi network. Instead of having to download an application on to your computer, the all of the following can be done in the web browser:

- View Photos
- Play Songs
- Watch Videos
- Access any folder from the phone in PC web
- Download files from the phone in PC web
- Upload files onto phone
- Access Android Apps(.apk)

There are also extra features including:
- Remote control Android camera in PC web, now your old phone can be used as a baby monitor!
- Display Android notifications and messages in PC web
- Send text from PC web to Android clipboard and search site

This is the reason why that at least when it comes to file transfer between mobile devices and computers, the age of USB stick may be coming to an end. Services provided by Zapya is more carefree and flexible. We may still use it as it has been customary but new inventions will eventually make older inventions unnecessary.
