With a changing world comes a new challenge in the world of engineering and construction, of which Dr. Zohrevand is tackling as director of Creative Engineering, Smart Solutions, and Sustainable Systems, or CES4, with two offices in Florida and California. He is best known as the director of engineering design for several innovative and sustainable building structures, such as the largest building in the U.S. made of shipping containers (a four-story office building complex), in Miami, Florida. This type of construction provides both cost effectiveness and sustainability through upcycling existing materials. He has been serving as the principal engineer in the seismic retrofit and strengthening of several buildings in south California, using advanced techniques and materials, such as fiber reinforced polymers (FRP), which was presented to the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC), as the most time- and cost-efficient technique to make old buildings earthquake resistant. He joined a team of professional engineers who founded CES4 to provide both private and governmental clients with their talents. The company offers consulting services with building structures, structural rehabilitation, bridges, civil engineering, pipeline engineering, and water and wastewater engineering. CES4 is a small company that is recognizing the critical needs in the construction field. Their vision is to provide excellence in innovative, smart, and cost-effective engineering solutions to create sustainable and resilient infrastructural systems. They pride themselves on taking accountability in their work, holding themselves responsible in not only practicing what they preach, but also to deliver time bound and cost-effective solutions to the clients and communities that they serve.
