International Academy offers the following courses in the health and skincare industry. These courses adhere to international standards to provide students with global exposure and successful career opportunities.

Health & Skin Care Course

This qualification will enable the qualifying student to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team as a multi-skilled Health and Skincare Practitioner. The student will be skilled in visual, tactile, verbal and assessment skills to ascertain the client’s body and integumentary needs, in order to analyze the client’s state of health and formulate a specific or protocol for the treatment. The main focus is to provide and promote effective skin and body care treatments.

Beauty & Nail Technology Course

The purpose of this Further Education and Training Certificate: Beauty and Nail Technology is to develop the self-directed skills and knowledge of those employed in the beauty industry as nail technologists, beauticians, or make-up artists. It is designed for people who wish to extend their range of skills and knowledge of the industry and those wishing to follow a career in the beauty industry. The qualification is aimed at developing the necessary task skills, task management skills and job/role management skills of those working or intending to work in the beauty industry. The students will be able to integrate the generic salon requisite skills, knowledge, values, and attitudes with those specific to the beauty industry, ensuring the business in which they operate runs smoothly and offers excellent customer service according to industry standards.

Hairdressing Course

This course is offered on three different levels. The NQF Level 02 qualification is designed to serve as an introduction to the hairdressing industry and provide the student with the basics of hairdressing. The NQF Level 03 qualification is designed to focus on the core hairdressing skills of cutting, relaxing, styling and coloring. The NQF Level 04 qualification is designed to focus on advanced hairdressing techniques such as perming, advanced coloring, braiding, and dreadlocks as well as on a series of management functions designed to assist a qualified hairdresser to set up and manage their own business.
Fitness Course

This fitness certificate aims to ensure that the fitness practices applied adhere to sound principles drawn from exercise science and safety principles. Students will develop the appropriate fitness skills and knowledge base required by the broader fitness, sport, and recreation industry. This qualification enhances the standards of fitness practitioners, thus giving credibility and respect to the whole industry. Through this course, we align fitness education and training to the international fitness community.

We offer various part-time courses to accommodate those with a busy schedule. These short courses offer the student the opportunity and flexibility to study at their own pace and time within the allowed timeframe. Students can either add to their existing qualification or launch a totally new career. Practical classes are held on weekdays, evenings and every Saturday. All courses cover a theory and practical component, and are presented by well established, qualified and experienced lecturers. A combination of courses allows you the opportunity to further your qualification with an internationally recognized qualification from ITEC.
