Live Bootcamp on ‘Open-source Intelligence’ with Abdul

InfosecTrain to host a live Bootcamp Open-source intelligence (OSINT) with a certified expert Abdul

What:
Information gathered from public sources such as those available on the Internet is open-source intelligence.

Open-source intelligence (OSINT) is information gathered from published sources for intelligence purposes. The term "open" in the intelligence community refers to overt, publicly available sources. It has nothing to do with open-source or communal intelligence.

The core phrase in the OSINT idea is information, especially free information. It makes no difference if it's in newspapers, blogs, web pages, tweets, social networking cards, photos, podcasts, or videos, as long as it's public, free, and lawful. With the appropriate information in your hands, you can gain a significant competitive advantage or expedite any company/person investigation you are responsible for.

OSINT is achieved by the ingestion of video, image, audio, and text data from public domain data sources, as well as the analysis of the ingested data, to generate insights from all data sources. Machine learning and deep neural network techniques are used in the analysis, allowing the system to learn from the data and refine its recognition of patterns, trends, and relationships. For example, OSINT intelligence can identify both the interviewer and the interviewee (video analytics), the key topics of discussion (speech and text analytics), how viewers react on social media (text analytics), and automatically provide, say, viewers' opinion clusters, trends, and sentiments in the case of a broadcast TV interview.

When:
24th April 2022 8.00 -9.00 PM (IST)

Speaker:
ABDUL MATEEN
Certified Information Security professional (Banking Industry)
Information Security Analyst with experience in Network & Endpoint defense, Threat Hunting, and Threat Intelligence. Currently employed in the Security Operations Center of a leading Bank in Dubai. CEHv10 holder and Trained CCNA candidate.

Why attend:
OSINT technologies enable cyber security experts to locate public-facing assets and map the information contained in each to forecast potential cyber risks to a company. They also assist cyber security departments in searching for potential cyber threats on social media and other non-corporate sources.

Keep in mind that most OSINT materials are not searchable using standard search engines like Google or Yahoo!, as many resources are buried deep in the deep and darknet, accounting for more than 96 per cent of all web information.

All information that may be found freely – primarily via the internet – without violating any copyright or privacy regulations is referred to as open-source intelligence (OSINT). OSINT can be defined in this way to include a wide variety of sources. For example, publicly available information on social networking websites, posts on discussion forums and group chats, unprotected website directories, and any information that may be obtained by searching online.
