Basildon, United Kingdom – November 17, 2018 - From 1987, IFC Inflow has been designing, building, & selling loading arms, tanker access gantries, folding stairs, fall prevention equipment, & tanker loading skids. They also sell many key complimentary products, including high-speed transfer pumps, bulk flow meters, dry disconnect couplings, depot automation equipment, and swivel joints. IFC Inflow has become one of the most significant liquid loading & safe tanker access experts in the UK and Ireland. Over their 30 years in the market, IFC has developed a wide range of products. This has strung from long experience within the sector combined with in-house design engineering capability.

Explaining the need to buy swivel joints, the Chief Engineer said, “The IFC heavy duty swivel joints enable the vertical and horizontal movement of pipework, mostly through 360 degrees, without compromising the strength of the overall pipeline. This freedom of movement is best for situations where the use of hoses to transfer oil or other petrol or chemical liquids is not suitable. The swivel joints are used in applications where hazardous products are being handled and are used extensively in our range of petroleum loading arms. Applications include loading and unloading of road and rail tankers, ship to shore transfer of crude oil, to siphon the top of any liquids stored in storage tanks using a floating swivel arm, liquid removal in mining areas, and moving liquids from factory to trucks where fixed piping is unsuitable.”

Easy swivel movement is possible through the use of stainless-steel ball bearings traveling in a hardened raceway within the joint. IFC swivel joints are available in durable carbon or stainless steel & benefit from PTFE seals for use with a wide range of liquids. They are entirely liquid-tight to ensure maximum product handling safety.

On the subject of unloading arms, he added, “We provide a made-to-measure service when it comes to providing chemical loading arms and can design a specific solution to suit your needs. From our wide range, we can offer top & bottom articulated types, PTFE lined loading arms (good for use with corrosive materials such as acids and caustics), steam or electric tracing, heated loading arms using oil, and thermally clad and jacketed loading arms for insulation. The heater system is designed for chemical loading arms where the materials have to be maintained at high temperatures, like bitumen & some foodstuffs such as chocolate.”

They provide a straightforward upgrade of the chemical tanker loading system, a new installation if setting up a new chemical loading facility, or a complete tanker loading solution incorporating loading platforms & tanker access equipment, along with loading arms specified in a bespoke way to the business requirements.
