Codebase ventures shifting Investment Focus to the Cannabis industry.
Codebase ventures, the well-known investment company has recently announced that their leadership team and board of directors are currently searching for undervalued investment opportunities in the cannabis industry, with a focus on the I.T sector in the space. The company believe that this undervalued sector will be a great enhancement to their already successful blockchain and cryptocurrency technology investments.
The medical industry is not unknown territory for both the CEO George Tsafalas, and the director Brian Keane. Both board members have previously been in leadership and governance positions with Supreme Pharmaceuticals, which is now known as Supreme Cannabis Company. Codebase as a whole will see strong benefits from the experience and connections its board has from previous roles in the cannabis industry. In a note to investors CEO George Tsafalas said "As a result of our knowledge and relationships in the cannabis sector, we have identified opportunities that merit further investigation, at one end of the cannabis sector we are seeing innovative startups and at the other consolidation with bigger entities. With worldwide medical and recreational market forecasts over $120 billion by 20301, we are seeing a sector today that is in its infancy and there are investment opportunities of interest to us beyond the mainstream, in areas including information, data and technology."
Earlier this month, the company announced that the management team they have behind them is in a strong position with their current portfolio in the blockchain space, capitalizing on bitcoins recent revival, which has increased in value by over 50% over the course of the last 30 days. In combination with this, there has been many new opportunities for both retail investors and institutional investors in cryptocurrencies. Director of Codebase Brian Keane weighed in saying "Whether it be in the blockchain space or the cannabis sector, we are seeking opportunities where the Company holds investments in information, technologies and teams that have the potential to be industry leaders with significant upside potential, which will benefit our shareholders.”
Its common knowledge that the cannabis industry is providing more and more opportunities in the financial world, with more and more big names getting involved it is only a matter of time before the infant cannabis industry grows into a mature investment strategy for both the long and short term. With legalization all over the world happening at an increasing rate, the industry is set to take off, and turn into a global phenomenon much like the dot com boom that rolled in the millennium.
