Ilias Atwani is a mining industry professional with many years of experience under his belt. He started his career in 2008 by interning in the mining engineering department of a Meknes, Morocco based company. As an intern, he assisted operators underground in their daily activities, and handled the equipment used underground under the supervision of foremen and operators. Making the most of this opportunity to work closely with seasoned mining professionals, he learnt in detail about various complex mining processes. The first-hand exposure to underground supervising that he got proved instrumental in his career ahead.
Later, Ilias Atwani got the opportunity to intern with a British-Swiss multinational commodity trading and mining company in their Mining Engineering Department for over 6 years. His key responsibilities here included establishing weekly schedules & planning; managing Volumetric reconciliation & adjustment of excavated and blasted roc quantities; issuing drilling, loading and blasting plans; and taking care of 3D design & Survey data processing, and other operations.

Ilias Atwani is an experienced Mining Engineer working with a senior Canadian gold mining company as a Mine Operations Coordinator (Mine Operations Dept.). He is skilled in Mining Oriented Operational Analysis/Modeling: Surpac®, Whittle®, Talpac®; Programming: Matlab®, C/C++, VB; Management and Logistics: SAP®, JD Edwards®; and CAD Software like AutoCAD® (Amine & Promine), SolidWorks®, Silverscreen® (CAMP), 3DReshaper®. He is an alumnus of Laval University from where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering in July 2012. He also attended Institut Polytechnique privé de Casablanca from Sep 2006 to Dec 2008 for his preparatory classes for engineering school. Currently, Atwani is pursuing his Executive Master of Business Administration (E-M.B.A) degree from Laval University.
