HLH Prototypes provides Cast Urethane Molding Services which can also be referred to as Vacuum Casting. This process is an efficient solution that saves on the lead time and costing of the production tooling but still maintains the quality of the final product. They are able to cast parts of different sizes, big or small such as headphones and 2m long car bumpers using a wide range of materials based on customer’s needs. The process is in three stages which begins with a master model that is either 3D printed via SLS or SLA, or CNC machined. Secondly the model is taken through a silicone tool whereby the liquid silicone is poured and spread around the model then cured. It is allowed to dry after which the master is cut to leave a cavity in the mold. Finally casting is done by pouring resin into the cavity.
