There are four types of Diabetic neuropathies - Peripheral, Autonomic, Proximal and Focal. Peripheral neuropathy is the most common disease which affects the peripheral nerves, mostly in feet, legs, and hands. Peripheral nerves create a channel connecting the brain, spinal cord, other internal organs, muscles, and skin. Damage to these disturbs the communication between the brain and other parts of the body. It can prevent muscles movement and sensational feeling in your legs and arms causing severe pain condition. Various Peripheral neuropathy conditions can be sensory, motor or autonomic. Basic Neuropathy refers to the conditions when nerves that carry the message from the brain to the rest of the body are diseased.

1) Sensory Neuropathy is the lack of feeling in nerves. It generates burning sensation, tingling nerves, numbness or even permanent numbness in feet, legs, and hands.

2) Motor Neuropathy is a diabetic disorder that causes muscle pain and muscles even get weak. Mostly, thigh muscles, shin muscles in the legs and feet muscles. This condition can make walking difficult and imbalances the standing position, skin inflammation, increase worse callus conditions, etc.

Muscle and Joint complications
Diabetic Patients feel frequent muscle and joint pain. Including walking problems, High Blood Glucose can make joints stiff when a foot stays in particular position. In simple terms, this kind of joint problem is referred as Limited Joint Mobility Syndrome.

Peroneal Nerve Palsy, a condition leading to Paralysis
Peroneal Nerve Palsy is one of the conditions where a damage to a single peripheral nerve can cause greater problems. This happens when a nerve is compressed at the top of the calf on the outer side of a knee. The condition which develops with Peroneal Nerve Palsy is called ‘Foot Drop’ where a person finds difficult to lift the front part of a foot. Foot drop knows no age. It can strike at any age and can be caused in both the legs at the same time. In Foot drop condition a patient has to drag the front part of the feet while walking and give more lift to heel and knee. Foot drop abnormality can lead to paralysis in the muscles of a lower leg or a major harm to the sciatic nerve.
