Nepal, 02nd-June-2017 - Deciding the most favorable time to go for an Annapurna Circuit trek is an elimination game. You should avoid December to February – because it’s too cold. And you obviously don’t wish to travel during summer since it tends to be too hot. From June to September is the monsoon season, when nearly 70 percent of the annual precipitation takes place. This’s also the time when rock fall & landslides are most expected to happen.

That leaves 2 times when trekking the Annapurna Circuit is most favorable: October to November and mid March to mid April.

When you should go for Annapurna Circuit Trek?

October is when the monsoon season ends in Nepal and probably the most suitable time to trek the Annapurna Circuit. The heavy precipitations have cleared the air, making sights of the Himalayas particularly dazzling. It is also usually a secure time to travel, since the slopes are not excessively damp & slippery. And the temperature during this period is just perfect – neither exceedingly hot nor exceedingly cold.

Trekking the Annapurna circuit during early spring – from March-April – prior to the monsoon season starts is another excellent choice. The rhododendrons & other flowers are in blossom, embellishing the routes in incredible colors. Furthermore, this is the warmest period, which makes it attractive to hikers who don’t prefer the cold.

“Although trekkers trek the province all through the year, we suggest ignoring the heavy rainfall of the monsoon season which make the routes muddy and slippery and cause rivers to rise. “Keep in mind at the Himalayas on a wonderfully clear blue sky say, an unexpected storm can sweep up from the Bay of Bengal and drop up to 36+ hours of snow on a track. These intense snows at higher altitudes cause stern risk to those not familiar with the trail, lacking the appropriate gear or hiking without a careful local guide who knows both the weather pattern and trail pretty well” the spokesperson added further.
