Seeing someone else get pregnant when you're trying to overcome the worst infertility odds may be rough, but occasionally understanding that other people have triumphed at what you're trying to do in spite of very challenging odds may be encouraging and inspirational. Here are a couple of IVF success stories about people who had extremely low chances of getting pregnant but who managed to have kids of their own anyhow.

Defeating Unbeatable Chances

Amber didn't begin trying to get pregnant until she was forty. While her financial situation was ok at best and she hadn't just located Mr. Right, she knew that if she didn't begin trying to get pregnant, it might never occur. Rather than waiting for everything to be perfect, she just made a decision to do it.

When she got herself checked out at the fertility clinic, her ovaries turned out to be rather small, and she just had one antral follicle. Essentially, Amber was on the brink of menopause, and it absolutely was impossible to tell when she'd stop ovulating completely. Amber knew that her chances of really getting pregnant were very, very low, but she decided to try IVF, anyhow.

Although she desired to get a move on, she decided to try everything she could to upward her odds of IVF success, so she decided to take DHEA supplements, which is frequently a good idea for women with diminished ovarian reserve. Amber also made a decision to try three weeks of regular acupuncture therapy. She was somewhat dubious that it would help, but she gave it a shot just in case.

During her first cycle of IVF, Amber believed that she was beginning to reveal most of the signs of menopause, including a reduced sex drive and a flat-lined basal body temperature when she checked each morning. Rather than giving up, though, she simply kept going.

One evaluation eventually came back positive, and when Amber eventually got to get an ultrasound, she was terrified that it wouldn't reveal anything. Amber's doctor heard not one but two pulses, and both of the embryos looked healthy and powerful. Several months after, Amber had her twins - a boy plus a girl - against all odds. Rather than giving up or looking forward to a perfect scenario to try to get babies, Amber had determined to do what she could to beat the odds, and it worked for her.

Cervical Dilemmas

Jen was coping with unexplained infertility, but IVF therapy had been extremely tough for her because her cervix was stiff and poorly placed. In her first round of IVF, the eggs, the doctor believes, really expired mid-transport because it took so long to get them into the uterus. Desperate for a system that would help her get pregnant, Jen consulted with a massage therapist about myofascial release therapy.

Subsequent to the twenty hours of therapy, she scheduled another round of IVF. Her doctor was so surprised at how easy the transport ended up being because her cervix had been loosened up so well. The 2nd round of IVF did the trick, and Jen had a baby boy nine months after. Since that round was so easy and successful, she is thinking about trying an additional time so her son can get a sib.
