Artists from around the world are submitting their own interpretations of the Don’t Sleep Movement’s symbol to be showcased for three months at the 2nd Annual Don’t Sleep Movement Art Exhibit. The Movement has been constantly growing in its second year and this red-carpet event should be two times the force as it was last year. Downtown Pomona’s famed museum, the Latino Art Museum, will once again host the artistic opening ceremony with hopes of bringing more awareness about The Don’t Sleep Movement and raise funds for the American Cancer Society and THE LOWKEYS Children's Art Foundation.
Amongst the creative and innovated pieces being displayed at the event, attendees will get the chance to enjoy entertainment by Latin Fusion band, La Verdad, and the award-winning Hip Hop duo, THE LOWKEYS, who have performed with major recording artists including Bruno Mars, The Pharcyde, and many more. More performance acts are scheduled to perform at the exhibit as well.
Invited guests include City Officials, Latino Art Museum Board Members, respected recording artists, beauty pageant winners and contestants, any much more. This year’s event attendance should supersede over last year’s head count. Not only will the art exhibit’s opening ceremony take place, but also Downtown Pomona celebrates its momentous Pomona Art Walk in which thousands walk the streets of Metro Pomona’s Arts Colony.
The 2nd Annual Don’t Sleep Movement Art Exhibit Opening Ceremony will commence on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 6pm-9pm with red carpet ending at 7pm. The Latino Art Museum is located at The Founders Building (Pomona Art Colony) 281 South Thomas Street, Suite 105 Pomona, CA 91766.
