Always well versed with the wing planning and execution of drug demand reduction program, Heather McSparron formerly served as drug demand reduction administrator at Civil Air Patrol. She considered it her responsibility to make sure that the drug demand strategy was being taught at all the wing encampments. Besides, she possessed a great understanding of contemporary issues in the field of drug demand reduction.

Have an insight into the achievement Heather has made as Drug Demand Reduction Administrator. From 18-20 January 2008, all cadets and senior members in Florida Wing joined their hands together to participate in Special Activities Selection Board at Patrick Air Force Base. With the assistance of Heather McSparron, this event comprised of many areas of competition, right from boards to athletic challenges and academic evaluation.

Her position offered her an opportunity to serve as an auxiliary of the Air Force where she served at different positions including Finance Officer, Public Affairs Officer, Admin/Personnel, Testing Officer, and Squadron Commander, apart from drug demand reduction officer.

Pertaining to her career as a professional buyer at different government procurement, Heather McSparron learned various skills that helped her to excel in this field. These skills included creating Request for Quotes, analyzing proposals, reading the technical drawings, understanding technical evaluations and interacting between the external customers as well as internal ones. Her familiarity with the procurement regulations helped her to bag the position of a buyer. As a hands-on buyer, Heather was offered the job in Afghanistan where she performed the same purchasing functions with a difference that she got a broader vision of onsite logistical issues.
