Jobs Skills Boot Camp for Teens designed to give job seekers a better chance of securing a job

Melissa Sampson from Affirmation Lounge has announced her plans to launch a free Career Boot Camp for Teens using the crowdfunding platform ( The company is hoping to raise $8,000.00 to launch free workshops for teens to help them find and gain employment.

With the current economic climate it is a tough job market for adults, for teenagers with the lack of confidence and job interviewing skills as well as without the tools to make them stand out, the job market is even tougher.

Affirmation Lounge want to help teens to gain employment by helping them become more confident and supplying them with the right tools through a free workshop.

The three-day workshop will teach students different new skills to help them have a better chance of gaining employment. They will learn how to prepare a summary statement for their LinkedIn profile, the best way to put a covering letter together to accompany a job application, interviewing skills through mock interviews as well as how to identify their skills. The important free workshop will teach the teens lots of new skills to help them stand a better chance of gaining employment in a tough job market.

When the course finishes, students will then have a chance to meet once a month for three months to ask any questions as well as help in revising their resume.

Melissa Sampson from Affirmation Lounge said: “I created this workshop to address the lack of employment/career training in the High School Curriculum. Once teens graduate, they have no clue how to begin packaging and marketing their skills to find employment. In a down economy, people are taking any job they can find make ends meet, and this means they are dipping in to the minimum wage job supply that teens generally start out with. That said, I created these workshops not only to help teens compete with more experienced applicants for a minimum wage job, but to teach them a skill that will help them reach for, and obtain, positions that will launch their career or at the very least help earn more than minimum wage. In short, these are skills they will cultivate and use for the rest of their working life.”

Affirmation Lounge would like people to help them make a difference by visiting their crowdfunding campaign at and help young people stand a better chance of gaining employment
