NEERAJ CHOPRA WINS MORE THAN GOLD


As India’s fate in the sporting has changed from least of medals to medal tally gaining in numbers as the day passes. And their emerges new faces who shoot into national limelight
& one such as is the Neeraj Chopra , the alumni of DAV College Chandigarh.
He conquered the most awaited medal -gold in the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games in Javelin to a distance of 88.06 meters , breaking on his national record.
The 20 year old punjabi boy’s winning throw came in his third attempt , in his first attempt he was 83.46m 7 fouled the second attempt.
He won this by leaving the tally’s numero-uno China on second spot & neighbour Pakistan with bronze.
His initial start in the game might be for fitness reason for shedding some extra kilos , but today he is considered the best in his field with attaining top in Commonwealth Games, & federation Games.
In his words “To some it might seem as an easy win but it did require dedication & focus to ace the top spot & was not under the burden of winning .”
The country loved when he dedicated his win to the late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee & even more when he showed friendly gesture towards Pakistan’s Arshaad Nadeem, who was on third spot.
This gesture of his re-strengthened the belief of Tennis star Sania Mirza that sports is the best education , which teaches one to sportsmanship,equality respect and most importantly humanity.
And Nadeem to had good words for him who labelling him as a great talent & inspires him in his goal is to emulate Neeraj one day & may be beat him too.
Next Chopra will compete in Diamond League Final in Zurich on August 30.
