● What Are Ethylene Oxide Derivatives And Their Applications?
Ethylene oxide is a chemical that is required for the production of different goods in downstream markets. The role of ethylene oxide is to be used as a fungicide or as an accelator maturing tobacco leaves and also used as a strelizing agent of ethanolamines, glycol ethers, and other ethylene oxide derivatives. The ethylene oxide derivatives also play an important role for paints and varnishes.
Applications: Ethylene oxide are mostly used for sterilization in healthcare industry. Another major application of ethylene oxide is that it is used on instruments that do not match with heat, moisture and other abrasive chemicals. The applying of the ethylene oxide derivates can also be seen in sythesis or solvent used in many products.
The below mentioned are different types of ethoxylates & emulsifiers.
● Different Types Of Ethoxylates
1. Fatty Alcohol Ethoxylates
Fatty alcohol ethoxylates are non-ionic surfaces made up of different active agents derived from natural fatty alcohols. The role of this alcohol ethoxylate applications is to be used in cleaning & scourcing agents for textile industries.
2. Fatty Acid Ethoxylates
Fatty acid ethoxylates are used as surfactant products in cleaning and scouring applications in industries. The important feature of fatty acid ethoxylates is that they are non-ionic surfactants without any harmful chemical omissions.
3. Fatty Amine Ethoxylates
Fatty amine ethoxylates are non-ionic surfactants utilized for wetting and defoaming different agents used in textile and metal industries. This fatty amine ethoxylate are utilized as emulsifier manufacturers which are later employed in the formulation of emulsifier blending.
4. Alkylphenol Ethoxylate (Alkyl/Cardanol)
Alkylphenol ethoxylates, also known as cardanol ethoxylate are high performance and cost-effective chemical compounds that are used as primary industrial applications. 2 of the most commercially suitable APEs are the nonylphenol ethoxylates and octylphenol ethoxylates.
5. Polyethylene Glycol (PEGs & MPEGs)
Polyethylene glycol is a compound of polyether with different uses in industrial manufacturing to pharmaceutical drugs & medicine. The polyethylene glycol wax is a product with high demand in various industries. The MPEG (Methoxy polyethylene glycol) is the upgraded compound of the PEG.
6. Castor/ Hydrogenated Castor Oil
The Castor oil ethoxylates are reliable surfactants used for industrial purposes and market segments. The castor oil ethoxylates are obtained from the seed of the castor plant. The hydrogenated castor oil is are used as a lubricant in products which are oil based.
7. Glycerine Ethoxylates
Glycerin Ethoxylates are utilized in preparing different types of cosmetics. The glycerol ethoxylates are used as moisturizers and tackifier for adhesive. The glycerol ethoxylate also plays an important role in the construction industry as an important emulsifier.
8. Glycol Ether (Phenoxyethanol)
Glycol ether is a group of self emulsion wax commonly used in paints and cleaners. This phenoxyethanol solvent has a tremendous boiling point and favourable solvent properties which have lower-molecular weight ethers and alcohols.
● Different Types Of Emulators
➔ Self-Emulsifying Wax (Non-Ionic/Anionic)
Self-emulsifying wax is a chemical utilized in mixing of oil and water to produce a smooth emulsion/lotion. The self-emulsifying wax is also known as Polawax and has 2 different types of non-ionic self-emulsifying wax & anionic self-emulsifying wax.
➔ Silicon Oil Emulsifiers
Silicon oil emulsifier is a combination of biodegradable waste and non-ionic surfactants which are developed for micro emulsification of silicone fluid. The major role of silicon emulsifiers is to improve sustainablity of oil emulsions
➔ Amino Oil Emulsifiers
Amino oil emulsifier is a liquid that is a chemical composition of non-ionic surfactant. The unique feature of the amino oil emulsifiers is that it stables microemulsion from silicon oil.
➔ Paraffin Wax Emulisifier
Paraffin wax emulsion is an emulsifier used in the production of construction chemicals. The paraffin wax emulsion major role is to emulsify the paraffin wax seperately to get recieve a stir emulsion.
➔ Natural Oil Esters
The natural oil esters are the replacement of mineral oil used in power transformers. The natural oil esters have excellent environmental properties like complete biodegradation of waste.
All above are the various different types of ethylene oxide derivatives with their respective applications.
