Gloria Sue Sutton is pleased to announce her donation to a local organization that focuses on traumatic issues that affect women and children in the Houston area. For Gloria Sue Sutton, who has a long existing passion for community service, making a donation to support The Bridge Over Troubled Waters was an obvious next step.

“I think that this organization’s work is so important,” says Gloria Sue Sutton. “I feel so glad to be able to support them in that.”

Gloria Sue Sutton supports the work that The Bridge Over Troubled Waters does in issues of homelessness and healing from the trauma of assault and domestic violence. According to Gloria Sue Sutton, the most important part of the healing process from such trauma is to find a safe place to heal.

“The Bridge Over Troubled Waters provides safety, comfort and refuge,” says Gloria Sue Sutton. “I wanted to be able to help them do that, not only for women affected by violence in their homes, but also for their children. Creating shelter from these crisis situations is one of the most important things we can do.”

For Gloria Sue Sutton, supporting The Bridge Over Troubled Waters means also working for those all over the area who are affected by the issues in other ways. For example, The Bridge Over Troubled Waters is an agency that helps by providing childcare and counseling for women who have experienced trauma.

“I really appreciate that The Bridge Over Troubled Waters works so hard to help the whole person heal. They go the extra mile to help out and support those affected by trauma,” notes Gloria Sue Sutton. “The Bridge Over Troubled Waters is also remarkable in that it works to prevent violence before it even takes place by reaching out to the whole community in our area and educating people of all ages.”

For Gloria Sue Sutton, donating to The Bridge Over Troubled Waters is an important piece of her well-rounded community service endeavors. In the future, Gloria Sue Sutton is hoping to also become involved as a volunteer for the agency.
