Gloria Sue Sutton is pleased to announce her ongoing commitment to improving the lives of children by advocating for their needs in health care. For many years, Gloria Sue Sutton has volunteered with the Texas Children’s Hospital to help provide much-needed services to children in the Houston region.

“A trip to the hospital is always difficult and can be frightening, but it becomes even more stressful when a child is the one who is in need of medical care,” said Gloria Sue Sutton on her decision to volunteer at the Texas Children’s Hospital. “Young children, especially, may not be able be a part of the decision-making process, or may not fully grasp what’s happening. Add to that the fact that parents with children in the hospital are often extremely stressed, as well as the specific medical needs of children and pediatric specialists, and extra services are often needed to help families deal with such a difficult time.”
Gloria Sue Sutton has volunteered in a wide range of contexts for the Texas Children’s Hospital. In her time there, Gloria Sue Sutton has aided in fundraising, planning fun events for kids, and helping parents come to terms with having a sick child. Gloria Sue Sutton has worked extensively with all types of staff, from doctors and nurses to administrators, demonstrating her ability to collaborate with people from all walks of life.

“Children are our future, and each and every one deserves as much help as adults can give them,” commented Gloria Sue Sutton when talking about her work with children. In addition to advocating for children’s health care, Gloria Sue Sutton has also worked with Ronald McDonald House and Bridge Over Troubled Water to provide resources to children struggling with poverty, domestic violence, and crisis situations. “I feel honored to be able to give some of my time to children and families in need.”
