Students can opt for both fall and spring intake when they apply to study in USA. We take a look at the difference between the two and find out if any of the two has an advantage

A number of students from India will probably be applying to colleges and universities across the U.S. to make their dream of study in USA come true. If you are one among them, then you would have thought about the question, whether to apply for the fall or spring semester.
US universities(https://globaltree.in/study-abroad-usa-at-northern-arizona-university/) accept admission intakes during two periods, spring, which is generally around July and fall which falls around October. One question on most students’ minds is whether there is any advantage in choosing one over the other.
Difference between fall and spring for Study in USA
1. Most universities accept both spring and fall intakes, however a small portion of universities accept students only during fall. So, if you are planning to study in one of these, it would be better to apply for the fall intake.
2. Students who apply for spring intake to study in universities may find that they are unable to balance the work of a summer internship with course requirements. On the flip side, students who apply in spring have an advantage over fall students as they have already settled down and know their professors by the time the fall students arrive.
3. Students who get rejected in Fall can take advantage of the spring intake and vice versa. Having two cycles in one academic year to study in USA(https://globaltree.in/services/abroad-education/study-in-usa/), means that you can prepare again and give your best shot.
4. The weather and the location of your university can have a major influence on your choice. If you are planning to study in a university like UC Berkeley or UCLA, where it gets hot in summer, then a fall intake would probably be better to help you get over the initial days. However, if you plan to study a MIT near Boston, then a summer intake would be best as winters get cruelly cold.

When all is said and done, there isn’t too much of a difference between fall and spring intake in terms of academics or tuition costs. The accommodation scene may vary slightly depending on the campus. The choice of whether to opt for spring intake or fall intake to pursue your higher education in USA should be taken on an individual basis after taking all factors into consideration
