Canada has re-opened its short-term pathway for caregivers to apply for permanent residency in the country. The program, which provides a way for caregivers in Canada having work experience in the country since 30th Nov 2014 is now accepting new applications .in order to qualify, you should have been working as a nanny, day care worker or home support worker. The Work experience should also match the description and list of duties listed under the country’s National Occupational Classification (NOC) Group as no. 4411 or 4412. The opening was the second instance since the pathway was unveiled by the Canadian government at the start of the year, and would be accepting applications through September.
Who Can Apply For Canada Immigration through Caregiver Pathway
In order to apply for the caregiver pathway you will need to be authorized to work in Canada on a permit that is different from an LCP at the time of application. Alternatively you would also be applying for renewing your Canada work permit or for restoration of status for a permit that is not an LCP or live-in caregiver program. You will also need to meet the following additional eligibility criteria
1). You should have language skills to show that you can communicate in English and/or French at a comfortable level at least – that is, CLB/NCLC in either or both of the languages
2). You would need to have at least 12 months of full-time working experience in the country after November 30, 2014, in an occupation that is relevant to the application
3). You would need to have passed high school diploma from a Canadian school or an equivalent degree or certificate from any school outside Canada.

a) If you have studied outside Canada, then you will need to obtain an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) — which is issued within five years of the date of your application by an organization that is approved by the government — the credential should indicate that the certificate is equivalent to Canadian secondary school diploma .
