[Minnesota, June 28, 2016] – Intensive Basketball Camp provides 14- to 18-year-old boys with a challenging and life-changing basketball training. The 10-day camp applies the J7 Training Philosophy, influenced by the founder J Robinson. According to the basketball camp, their philosophy focuses on essential life skills needed in basketball.

What is the J7 Training Philosophy?

The J7 Training Philosophy serves as a guide to the activities at the Intensive Basketball Camp. The seven virtues — discipline, dedication, sacrifice, hard work, responsibility, accountability, and service — make a better athlete and a better person.

J7 teaches discipline for the young athletes to be willing to do what they initially don’t want to do for their own improvement. The philosophy also teaches perseverance in the face of failure, and exhaustion and sacrifice, to give up whatever it takes to succeed.

The philosophy teaches hard work, for the athletes to stay committed to their goal and to do more. It also teaches responsibility and accountability for their decisions and actions as well as the consequences.

Lastly, the J7 Training Philosophy teaches athletes service — helping others without expecting any recognition.

When is the basketball training camp?

The Intensive Basketball Camp will be held on July 8-17, 2016 at the facilities of St. Catherine University in St, Paul, Minnesota. The high-intensity 10-day camp is open to 14- to 18-year-old male athletes. The camp admits 13-year-olds on a case-to-case basis.

The camp aims to teach high school athletes that they can work harder — individually and as a team — than they ever thought possible. The intensive training eliminates physical and mental challenges by pushing the athletes to their limits every day of the 10-day camp. Workouts include skill sessions, live games and drilling, running, weight lifting, and conditioning.
