More and more people (especially those between the ages of 18 and 34) are cutting off the cord and looking for other ways to watch TV wirelessly. Most of them are related to expensive cable costs and the way cable companies plan. As you can see, cable or satellite TV packages can quickly become expensive, even if you just want better reception to watch local TV channels. So, what choice do you have? If you don't want to pay for a cable or satellite subscription, how can I access local channels in your area? Here are four ideas.

1. Get HD antenna

If you live close to a radio station (about 20 miles), you may need an indoor panel antenna. However, If you live in an apartment, townhouse or apartment where outdoor antennas are not allowed, you will also need an indoor antenna.

2. Watch local channel online

3. Get Sling TV

Sling TV is a streaming service similar to Netflix or Hulu because it can be accessed through your Internet connection. Unlike similar streaming services, Sling TV focuses on sharing live TV shows instead of on-demand programming. In this way, Sling is similar to a cable or satellite TV company.

It's important to note that the Sling TV package may not include all local channels in your area. Their website states that channels such as FOX, NBC and ABC are only available in certain markets.

4. Download the mobile app

Many local stations offer mobile apps that can watch local TV shows for free on smart phones or other mobile devices. CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox and CW radios all offer mobile apps that allow you to stream local TV shows on your mobile app without a subscription or cable or satellite connection.
