BIRMINGHAM, MICH. - Booms Stone Co. is proud to announce their part in the construction of the Balmoral, a five-story building constructed in the neo-classical style and intended as a mixed-use structure.

The Balmoral is inspired by the Scottish castle that Prince Albert presented to Queen Victoria in 1852. The building boasts 24-foot columns and matching granite wainscoting on the exterior and an elegant main lobby sporting gorgeous columns and eight-foot high glass doors. Top-grade granite and marble are incorporated into the design of the room’s gleaming walls, while the expanse of floor is made of Kashmir White Granite that is only found in India. The elevators sport Spanish Emperador Light, and the corridors boast complex mosaics to highlight the tile floor. Finally, the restrooms have countertops of Brazilian stone and Cygnus granite sinks.
Housing high-profile clients that include Morgan Stanley, PNC Bank The Private Bank, a Chicago-based institution, the Balmoral also provides a gleaming new home to the headquarters of sister companies Birmingham Roast and Lady Jane’s Haircuts for Men. The building is topped with a luxurious two-story Penthouse that encompasses the fourth and fifth floors.
Other key contributors to this project include Harvey Weiss and Najib Samona, Architect Thom Philips, Vice President of Hobbs & Black Architects, and Great Lakes Granite and Marble. The collaboration came to life as a vision for Weiss and Samona after the purchase of the land on Woodward Avenue.
