This press release is written to inform the readers that Gene Daniels has developed eHome structures- inspired by Swedish, low-tech ready-to-assemble furniture.

 
Gene Daniels is a multidisciplinary interior designer who is running his own design and consultation practice (Studio D) in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He follows a team approach and closely works with architects, engineers, artists, contractors and manufacturers to achieve the best possible design team for his clients. He has successfully completed various projects such as Halifax Grammar School, Paper Chase Café, Cunard Street Childrens Center and the conceptual design proposals for the Halifax Seawall Immigration Annex.

Gene Daniels has also served as a consultant to the United Gulf Developments (Sisters of Charity, Mother House). His current research is focused on eHomes, which are modular shelters for the victims of natural disasters. These structures are inspired by Swedish, low-tech ready-to-assemble furniture. Gene also works with agencies in Africa to develop emergency housing for the poor and impoverished communities.

Gene Daniels is a multidisciplinary designer who hails from Baltimore, Maryland. His main areas of specialization include architecture, interior design, environment design, research and more. At present, he manages his design and consultation practice (Studio D) in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It is a small design and research firm where he works with a variety of design professionals to achieve the best design team for his clients. His current research based project includes eHome modular habitats for victims of natural disaster and mobile data CAVE virtual imaging environments. Originally inspired by Swedish, eHome is a simple, low-cost, energy sufficient; self-built modular structure that provides safe and secure housing to its users. This project explores sustainable habitat and community design, and more age-friendly technologies for the users.
