John Lynch's 49ers were among the most active teams when free agency opened yesterday, signing Malcolm Smith and Kyle Juszczyk to suprising big-money discounts and bringing two veteran quarterbacks internally.

But does having John Hoyer and Matt Barkley since competitive options under center preclude San fran from hiring a retread at QB, namely former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick?



As is the GM regular, Lynch implied on KNBR about Friday that anything is possible at the QB place, saying the door is ready to accept talk to Kaepernick in regards to return.

"(Kaepernick) was, in everyone's mind within this league, very close to signing a take care of a team at an incredibly good number and that fell through, apparently, " Lynch explained. "Here we are together with two quarterbacks, but like we explained, we're gonna look in every option.
