This can be done by integrating careful planning, responsible waste disposal, responsible use of the environment, respecting biodiversity and leaving whatever is discovered.

Government agencies and organizations also have roles to play when it comes to preservation and conservation, through guidelines. But when these guidelines are all over the place and sites are overly managed, popular trekking and climbing locations may lose its sense of uniqueness and wilderness.
