Funds for Veterans is honored to announce it has received a grant from the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) for $9,000. Funds for Veterans (FFV) is a nonprofit organization with a clear and vital mission: to provide emergency financial aid to veterans facing immediate hardships within 24hrs of contact. Our primary means of support is our specialized Aid card, carefully designed to meet specific needs. This card is distributed conveniently via email or text message and is earmarked exclusively for the purchase of food and clothing, ensuring that it directly addresses the most pressing needs.

To ensure the utmost accuracy and fairness, we thoroughly vet our veterans. Beyond the initial aid, FFV maintain an ongoing connection, offering them not only immediate assistance but also long-term guidance, by connecting our veterans in need to larger institutions, aiding in their transition to a more stable and secure future.

With the help of this honorable grant from DVNF, we can extend our reach and provide critical support to awaiting veterans. On average, we are able to offer approximately $250 - $400 per veteran. Currently we have 22 veterans in our portal seeking help, DVNF grant will enable us to help them all as well as continue our mission of helping those who have bravely served our nation in their times of hardship.

Lorenza Lydia, Executive Director and co-founder of Funds For Veterans, said, "We are honored to have DVNF's sponsorship. The work they do is simply amazing. This marks our second year of partnership, and the relationship couldn't be better. It's wonderful to work with a group of intelligent, passionate individuals who are just as committed to veterans as we are. I started this foundation in honor of my father, who served in two wars. I made a promise to honor him by going back and doing my best to leave no man or woman in need behind.

My team is guided by this simple yet humbling quote that hangs inside my office: 'We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.' - Mother Teresa."

Joseph VanFonda (USMC Sgt.Maj. Ret.), CEO of the Disabled Veterans National Foundation said, “The work Funds for Veterans does in providing critical financial aid to veterans in crisis situations is vital. The service they offer to veterans in need is incredible and DVNF is proud to continue our partnership with FFV as they seek to aid veterans bridge the gap in emergency situations.”

About Funds For Veterans:

Funds for Veterans (FFV) was established to honor our CEO's father, a dedicated career military serviceman, and to provide emergency support to veterans who have served our country. Our program operates as an immediate safety net for veterans in need, addressing a crucial gap left by other supplement programs, often burdened with long waiting times. Our program also provides direct assistance to homeless veterans for housing stays and utility service support by collaborating directly with relevant companies.

Through a combination of private donations and grant funding such as DVNF, FFV has made a significant impact on the lives of struggling veterans. Since 2020 FFV have served more than 385 veterans. Our veterans contact us through various channels, including homeless shelters, VFW’s, The American Legion, our Social media platforms as well as our Website. Our outreach extends across the nation.

In 2024 FFV will soon introduce the first-of-its-kind application structure to assist female veterans suffering from PTS. Currently, 20% of our service women are afflicted, and most are enduring their struggles in isolation. Our app, titled 'The Safest Place,' will bring together counselors, therapists, workshops, spiritual leaders, group forums, and peer-to-peer connections, all aimed at helping to heal our female veterans who are suffering in solitude. The app will be provided to our veterans for free, and all professionals involved will be volunteers. A male version will follow. Please visit our website www.fundsforveterans.org to find out more.“To have an idea of an application that will reach our service-women instantly over the world 24/7 will be extremely humbling to our company. At FFV we never rest, serving is just that important to us - Lorenza “.
