Caterina’s Club, the nonprofit started by humanitarian Sir Bruno Serato to feed Southern California’s hungry children, has just secured a big catch thanks to Santa Monica Seafood, one of the largest distributors of fresh fish in Southern California. The company’s new Seafood Express Home Delivery program is launching Bruno’s Box containing four 6 oz cuts of Norwegian salmon filets, two 6 oz. tuna steaks and 1 lb of Selva Black Tiger Shrimp along with coveted recipes from Serato’s popular restaurant, Anaheim White House Italian Streakhouse. Each box serves up to four and costs $105. Santa Monica Seafood has pledged to donate $10 from the sale of each Bruno’s Box to his nonprofit that not only feeds hungry children, but finds housing for families in need and trains at-risk youth for positions in the restaurant and hospitality industries.
“I am so honored that a company as prestigious as Santa Monica Seafood has come up with this great idea that not only satisfies the palates of food enthusiasts, but brings much needed revenue to Caterina’s Club,” says Serato.
He explains that since COVID-19 hit the U.S. a few months ago, he has served 1 million meals to families hard hit financially by the pandemic. Compare that to it taking 10 years (2005-2015) to serve his first million meals to those in need.

Caterina’s Club serves pasta each night in 89 locations in Orange and LA counties with more 4 million meals served to date. His influence has extended far beyond the local area to include Chicago, New York, Texas, Mexico and Italy. The nonprofit also has helped scores of mostly "motel families escape motel living in squalid conditions by securing safe, clean homes for them.
For his humanitarian work, Serato has earned international publicity including profiles in People Magazine, CBS, NBC, CNN as well as newspapers and magazines the world over. Among his many honors: CNN Hero, knighted by the Italian government, knighted by the House of Savoy, Ellis Island Medal of Honor, papal blessing from Pope Francis, humanitarian award on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, and numerous proclamations, Man of the Year awards and other forms of recognition -- all of which he accepts to generate public awareness of the needs of our most vulnerable population – our children.
